Names released of 2 killed in Cape Girardeau murder-suicide

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton confirms two men were shot to death at a home on Landgraf Drive in Cape Girardeau.

Police say they are investigating the incident as a murder-suicide.  The shooting occurred at 1129 Landgraf Drive in Cape Girardeau.

Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton says Richard M. Carrube, 23, and Joshua G. Adams, 31, died in the shooting.  Both men are from Arizona.

Police say Adams shot Carrube with a handgun several times before turning the gun on himself.

Neighbors heard as many as six or seven gunshots at approximately 3:07 a.m. Friday. One gun was found at the scene.

Cape Girardeau Police say the two men knew each other and had been staying at 1129 Landgraf.

Police do not have any witnesses that observed the shooting.  Police believe the men had some type of disagreement that ended in the shooting.

Landgraf Drive has re-opened.

Neighbors say it is typically a quiet neighborhood.

"Normally there's kids playing on the streets and playing soccer, baseball," said Meredith Grissom, a neighbor. "There's people walking and exercising around the block. Normally your everyday neighborhood. Everybody gets along."
