Man charged with arson after garage set on fire

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Cape Girardeau Police arrested a man after an arson fire Friday.

Police say a garage that was not attached to a house at 320 N. Middle Street was set on fire around 11;50 p.m. on May 11.

David McClain is charged with arson.

Police say McClain was walking with some friends in the alley behind 320 N. Middle on May 11 when he stopped and used a lighter and can of hair spray to set the shed on fire.

No one was hurt.

Police do not know why the shed was set on fire.
