Police arrest teens, mother after escape

MURPHYSBORO, IL (KFVS) -

Police arrested two men who walked away from a work detail in Murphysboro Tuesday afternoon.

Illinois State Police say two men walked away from a Murphysboro Youth Camp work detail that was cleaning up Riverside Park.

The men were last seen walking north into the woods wearing orange shirts and blue pants around 3:51 p.m.

Murphysboro Police say Patrick Skelton, 19, and Timothy Miller, 17, were caught at 19th Street and Walnut Street in Murphysboro after they used a cell phone to call Skelton's mother to pick them up.

Tara Skelton, 39, was also arrested. She is the mother of Patrick Skelton.

Tara Skelton is charged with aiding an escape. The two boys were taken back to the Murphysboro IYC facility facing charges of escape.
