Sheriff has persons of interest in animal shelter vandalism

KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

The Dunklin County Sheriff says he has persons of interest in relation to the Kennett Humane Pound vandalism.

There are two cases in which shots were fired, damaging two trucks, and the animal shelter.

Investigators say someone fired numerous shots at the pound some time after 10 p.m. on March 30.

The lights above the door were shot out and there were seven to eight bullet holes in an exterior wall.

No animals were hurt.

Then, later in that weekend, someone fired shots into a truck parked at Fords Oil L & P gas just up the road from the pound.

The suspects also fired at the diesel tank as well.

Sheriff Holder says he has more than one person which he suspects is accountable for some of the vandalism.

There have been no arrests and no charges yet.
