Chaffee man injured after boat suddenly accelerates, hits tree

CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Chaffee man was injured Saturday morning after his boat in the Castor River accelerated and hit a tree.

It happened around 8:30 a.m. Saturday in Cape Girardeau County.

According to Missouri Highway Patrol, Larry G. Wolfe, 57, was operating a boat when it experienced mechanical problems and suddenly accelerated.

Wolfe lost control of the boat and it struck a tree on the southern shoreline.

He received moderate injuries and was taken to a Cape Girardeau hospital by a relative for treatment.
