Fire at church in Ironton considered suspicious

IRONTON, MO (KFVS) - A church was damaged by fire in Ironton, Missouri early Saturday morning.

Authorities say the fire that damaged the Meadow Heights Church in Ironton is suspicious.

Ironton Police Chief Harold Yarbrough says surveillance video from Arcadia Valley High School shows a white truck in the area of the church about the same time the fire started.

The fire happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday morning at Meadow Heights Church.

Chief Yarbrough says the church  at 472 S. Main St. had some flames showing when crews arrived on scene.

Crews were able to knock down the flames and get the majority of the fire out within the first ten minutes.

Yarbrough says two offices were destroyed.  There was also damage to the front of the building and major smoke damage to the rest of the facility.

The church had services at the Ursuline Academy in Arcadia Valley Sunday.
