CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

A man is facing drug and weapons charges after fleeing from police.  Another man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.

Charles T. Pryor was charged Thursday with two counts of unlawful use of weapon, no FOID, resisting a peace officer, possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Carbondale Police, they stopped two men shortly before 1 a.m. near the intersection of West Sycamore Street and North Oakland Avenue.

Police say Prior identified himself before fleeing the area on foot. Officers chased Pryor and were able to capture him a short distance away.

According to police, he was found to be in possession of a spring-loaded knife, a loaded handgun and a small amount of cannabis.

Police say the other man first gave them false information, but he was later identified as Jeremy J. Williams.

Williams had an outstanding Williamson County warrant, according to the police department. He was charged with felony obstructing justice and the warrant.

Both men were taken to the Jackson County Jail.
