DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - A Dexter man has been charged with making meth after deputies find a working lab.
Chad Steven Smith, 36, of Dexter, Mo. was charged with the class B felony of manufacture a controlled substance and class C felony of possession of a controlled substance.
According to Sheriff Carl Hefner, authorities searched a home on Market street in Dexter on Thursday after getting information that a person was manufacturing methamphetamine inside the residence.
Permission to go inside residence was granted by the owner.
According to the sheriff, once inside, deputies found a working methamphetamine lab. The man inside, Smith, was taken into custody and the lab was seized.
He was taken to the Stoddard County Jail on $50,000 cash only bond.
