Chaffee man faces child endangerment, drug charges

CHAFFEE, MO (KFVS) -

A Chaffee man faces child endangerment and drug related charges.

Kevin D. White, 39, of Chaffee was arrested Thursday on charges of three counts of endangering the welfare of a child, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

According to Sheriff Rick Walter, deputies were acting on information they received during an investigation which lead them to White's home in Chaffee.

After searching the residence, deputies found what appeared to be a marijuana grow operation, according to Sheriff Walter.

Walter says components commonly used to grow and consume marijuana, along with a substance believed to be marijuana, were found inside White's home.

During the investigation, White admitted that he smoked marijuana in the presence of his three children, according to the sheriff.

White was taken to the Scott County Jail on $50,000 bond.
