CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - A Carbondale man is accused of breaking into a vacant home on Sunday.
William H. Ticer, 37, of Carbondale was charged with residential burglary and possession of burglary tools.
Police say they responded to a call on May 6 about a burglary in progress on South Illinois Avenue.
Officers say a witness saw a man go into the house. Police later found Ticer inside. Officers say he had used tools to get inside the vacant home.
Ticer was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
Police say the investigation into the incident is continuing.
