COPY-Sex offender arrested

William Brooks, 30, was arrested by West Frankfort Police for Unlawful Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

The arrest took place on May 8 at 5:15 a.m. at William Brooks place of residence at 901 East Oak Street in West Frankfort.

Williams had registered his residence as 605 North Hughes Street, putting him in noncompliance with registry mandates.

The arrest was made after West Frankfort Police ran a compliance check on Brooks in cooperation with Illinois State Police.

Once at the residence, officers also arrested Kysha Brooks, 31 of West Frankfort.

Kysha Brooks was charged with a Sex Offender registry violation due to knowingly allowing William Brooks to reside at her residence knowing William Brooks to be a sexual predator being noncompliant.

Kysha Brooks furthermore provided false information to police in regards to William Brooks residing at her residence.

William Brooks was additionally charged with two more registry violations due to the fact he failed to disclose he was residing in a household with two children under 18 years of age who are not his children.

William and Kysha Brooks were transported to the Franklin County Jail.
