JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Saturday it was 'High Heels for Higher Hopes.'

Dozens came out Saturday morning for the high heel dash in Jackson.

It was a two block fun run in heels for women, men and kids.

A couple of men were even up for the challenge.

The money raised helps support local families affected by brain cancer.

Jackson teen Nolan Weber is currently fighting cancer. His mother appreciates this effort and all the support they've gotten since Nolan's diagnosis.

"It's been a long, I won't say eventful, but we've definitely learned a lot in the past year," said Nolan's mother Rachelle Weber. "We're just glad to see people coming out and supporting the cause. It's definitely worthy. We have such a great community. I'm just glad to be a part of it."

The race raised $500.

Organizers hope to make this an annual event.
