MORLEY, MO (KFVS) - Authorities are investigating two suspicious fires at two different buildings in southeast Missouri.

Fire crews fought a fire south of Morley on County Road 432 around 9 p.m. Monday.

When crews arrived, they found an abandoned building that was once used for a school in flames.

No one was hurt and investigators do not know a cause yet.

The building had no power so.  Fire officials say it does seem suspicious.

In the Bootheel, an overnight fire destroyed an abandoned building in Howardville.

Viewer Chris White says the fire started around midnight and no one was hurt.

The building at the corner of Highway 62 and Howard Street used to be a grocery store.

There was no electricity or gas lines hooked up, so fire officials say this one is suspicious as well.

The state fire marshall is expected at both of these scenes Tuesday.
