2 former Cairo auxiliary firefighters plead guilty to arson

ALEXANDER COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Two former Cairo auxiliary firefighters pleaded guilty Thursday to arson charges in Alexander County.

Richard Scott Pitcher of Cairo and David Patrick of Arlington, Kentucky both pleaded guilty to two counts each of arson, according to the Alexander County clerk's office.

Both were members of the Cairo Auxiliary Fire Department, according to Illinois State Police.

One fire was January 22, 2011 at a storage facility in Cairo adjacent to 33rd Street and the Mississippi River levee.

The other fire was April 16, 2011 off of Illinois 37.

Sentencing for Pitcher is scheduled for June 27.  Patrick is scheduled to be sentenced on June 20.
