3 injured in head-on Lyon County crash

LYON COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Troopers say three people were injured in a head-on car crash Thursday in Lyon County.

According to Kentucky State Police (KSP), it happened shortly after 3 p.m. on Jenkins Road, around two miles from US 62.

Troopers say the van driven by Donna Seay, 41, of Eddyville was northbound on Jenkins Road while the car driven by Jason Mullinix, 21, of Eddyville was headed southbound.  The two vehicles met on a hill crest and collided head-on.

According to KSP, Jason Mullinix's car left the road and overturned trapping him in the car.  A passenger, Chris Mullinix, 18, of Eddyville was thrown from the vehicle.  Chris Mullinix then got his brother Jason out of the car.

Jason Mullinix was airlifted to an Evansville, Indiana hospital with injuries.  Chris Mullinix was taken by EMS to Caldwell County Hospital with injuries.

Seay was rescued from her vehicle by Lyon County Rescue and airlifted from the scene to an Evansville hospital with injuries.  Also, a 14 year old in Seay's van was taken to a Paducah hospital and later transferred to a Nashville hospital with injuries.

No word on the extent the injuries.

KSP says an investigation into the crash continues.
