REDFORD, MO (KFVS) -

One man is dead after a homicide in Reynolds County.

The Reynolds County Sheriff's Office received a 911 call from a home off County Road 336 in Redford about shots fired about 5 a.m. Wednesday.

The sheriff and a deputy found Tom Espy dead inside the home.  He had been shot.

Sheriff Volner says they've already had lots of tips and they are working on numerous leads.

"We don't feel like it was a random act, mostly because of some of the things at the scene," Volner said.  "So we don't feel like there is any danger to the community."

Espy was retired his family had that piece of property for quite a while, but only had lived there for about two years.

Sheriff Volner says there are only about three other homes in the vicinity near Espy's house, so they are really counting on any information from the public.

The sheriff says Espy's wife lives in St. Louis. He says his heart goes out to the family.

Sheriff Volner says they have persons of interest, but have named no suspects.

Reynolds County authorities say they need your help tracking down clues as they investigate a homicide.

Anyone who was traveling in the vicinity of Hwy. K between Annapolis and Hwy. O in Redford between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. on April 25 and saw anything suspicious is asked to contact the Reynolds County Sheriff's Office at 573-648-2491.
