Dudley's Cookies from Mary-Ann Maloney

I love to cook. I only wish I had more time to spend in the kitchen. I'm the "Mrs. Field" of our newsroom. I like to make cookie recipes up and try them on my co-workers. If they live until the next day, I know I have a winner! Here is one recipe I enjoy.  Look for several more cookie recipes in the complete KFVS12 Holiday Food Guide --- some made up and some stolen! Dudley's Cookies

  • 3/4 cup butter-flavored Crisco
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla
  • 2 tbsp. milk
  • 1 egg (or egg substitute)
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup mini M&M's
  • 1 cup Rice Krispies cereal (or oatmeal)

Beat Crisco until light and creamy. Add brown sugar, vanilla and milk and beat until fluffy. Add egg and continue beating.

In a smaller bowl combine flour, baking soda and salt. Slowly add to Crisco mixture, beating all the time. Add Rice Krispies cereal, beating until just blended. Add chocolate chips and m&m's. Mix until blended.

Drop by rounded tablespoons on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly brown. Yield: 3 dozen.
