A Benton woman is accused of locking her child in a room at night and screwing a piece of plywood over the door so the child couldn't get out.
Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter says 30 year-old Brenda Daniels has been charged with four counts of Child Endangerment as well as two counts of Tampering with a victim.
Sheriff Walter says his department started working with the Division of Children Services on a case of possible child abuse.
Walter says the investigation revealed that Daniels was locking the child in a room by screwing a piece of plywood over the door preventing the child from being able to get out.
Sheriff Walter says that prevented the child from being able to escape in the event of a fire, or emergency.
Daniels is in jail with a $2500.00 cash only bond.
