Man accused in Cape Girardeau stabbing arraigned in court

UNION, MO (KFVS) - A murder suspect from the Heartland was arraigned in Franklin County, Missouri.

Ryan Harkey of Jackson is accused in the December 2011 stabbing outside a Cape Girardeau bar.

Harkey pleaded not guilty. His pre-trial conference is September 10 at 9 a.m.  His jury trial is set for September 26-28.

The case was moved to Union, Missouri on a change of venue.

Police arrested Harkey after the stabbing death of Jerry "Buddy" Conrad. Back in February, Harkey pleaded not guilty to a second degree murder charge. His lawyer says Harkey acted in self defense.
