Driver, 4 children injured in wreck near Malden

MALDEN, MO (KFVS) -

A driver and four children were injured in a wreck near Malden Monday afternoon.

It happened on J Hwy. six miles west of Malden, according to Trooper Clark Parrott with the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The 2003 Chevy Trailblazer driven by 37-year-old Stephanie Sherrod ran off the road, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit several trees around 4:30 p.m.

Four children, ages 3, 5, 12, and 16 were in the vehicle. 

Diamond Jones, 12, and Arianna Sherrod, 5, were airlifted to Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

Marion Sherrod, 3, Savannah Jones, 16, and Stephanie Sherrod were taken by ambulance to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center.

No one was wearing a safety device except for the 3 year old.
