SEDALIA, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Republicans will be sending a mixed slate of presidential delegates to the Republican National Convention.
Republicans were meeting in eight district conventions around the state Saturday to pledge 24 of the state's 52 delegates to particular presidential candidates.
The likely Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, picked up some of those delegates - but not all of them. Some delegates were elected Saturday to support to Rick Santorum, who won Missouri's non-binding primary in February but has since suspended his campaign. Some delegates went to Ron Paul. And at least one Missouri delegate was pledged to Newt Gingrich.
More than 2,000 people were participating in the district conventions.
Most of the rest of Missouri's delegates will be chose at the Republican state convention in June.
