CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - Two Southern Illinois University men's basketball players have been granted a release from their scholarship, while two others have been denied until they meet certain requirements.
Guards Travis Wilkins and Bobo Drummond, who signed letters of intent to play for the Salukis last November, have both been released, according to SIU Athletic Director Mario Moccia.
Meantime, current freshmen Dantiel Daniels and Treg Setty have been denied.
Moccia said the two players must first fulfill their obligation to the university this semester.
This comes as new head coach Barry Hinson who was hired last month says he expects to announce the names of his coaching staff in the near future.
