MAYSVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Two northern Kentucky men have been indicted on charges that they forced a 6-year-old girl into a clothes dryer during a birthday party and turned the dryer on, burning the child's back.
A Mason County grand jury charged 21-year-old Corey R. Horsley and 18-year-old Justin Sanders with second-degree criminal abuse, first-degree wanton endangerment on Friday. Deputy Circuit Clerk Mary Berry said arraignment had not been held and no lawyers were noted for the men.
Officials said it is unclear how long the child was in the dryer. The incident is alleged to have happened in January.
Kentucky State Police told The Ledger Independent that the girl was attending a cousin's birthday party in the Orangeburg area while her mother was visiting her grandmother at a hospital.
