St. Louis man faces drug, robbery charges

PERRY COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A St. Louis man faces drug and attempted robbery charges stemming from an undercover operation in Perryville.

Timmy T. Johnson, 32, of St. Louis was charged with class B felony attempted distribution/delivery of controlled substance and class C felony attempted robbery 2nd degree. 

On Friday, several law enforcement agencies joined in an undercover controlled purchase of controlled substance, according to the Perry County Sheriff's Office.

In the course of an investigation, law enforcement says Johnson was to deliver illegal drugs to a person in Perryville.

That's when officers say they learned Johnson intended to rob the informant he was supposed to deliver the drugs to.

The undercover operation was conducted by the Perry County Missouri Sheriff's Office, SEMO Drug Task Force and Perryville Police Department.

Johnson was taken to the Perry County Jail on $10,000 cash only bond.
