CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) Police are investigating two break-ins at pharmacies in Cape Girardeau and Scott City.
The break-ins happened just a few hours apart in the early morning Tuesday.
In Scott City, the Medicap Pharmacy on Main Street was broken into around midnight.
The pharmacist says that a male suspect used a gun to shoot out the glass in the front door.
He then hopped behind the counter and took some antibiotics and some controlled substances.
In all, the burglar was only in the store for about 40 seconds. Police are still searching for the suspect.
Then, about 6 a.m. Tuesday, a window was busted out at John's Pharmacy on Independence Street in Cape Girardeau.
Police say some medication was taken, but how much and what types of medication has not been determined.
No suspects are in custody as the investigation continues.
Police are not saying if the two break-ins are connected.
