ATV crash sends 2 people to hospital

ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

Two people are airlifted to a St. Louis hospital after an all terrain vehicle crash in St. Francois County.

It happened around 7 p.m. Sunday on private property. Troopers say the ATV was on a gravel road when the driver missed a curve. The ATV ended up hitting a portable toilet and flipped. Both people on the ATV were thrown from the vehicle.

The driver, 21-year-old Matthew Carey, and a passenger, 23-year-old Cassidy Rhodes, suffered serious injuries.

Both Carey and Rhodes are from Ironton.
