LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police say a 3-year-old child was shot in the leg in Louisville in what police believe may have been an altercation between two people.
Dwight Mitchell, a spokesman for Louisville Metro Police, told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/HqaE9N ) that the boy was taken to Kosair Children's Hospital with what appeared to be injuries that were not life threatening.
Mitchell said the shooting occurred about 8 p.m. Friday near the intersection of 41st Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard. Police responded to a report of shots fired and a woman told them that a child had been shot.
No suspects have been identified, but Mitchell said the shooting may have been related to a fight and police are asking people to call the anonymous tip line at 502-574-LMPD.
