Fredericktown soldier wins marksmanship competition

NEOSHO, MO (KFVS) - A soldier from Fredericktown has won a marksmanship competition held at Camp Crowder in Neosho, Missouri.

According to the Missouri National Guard, Sgt. James Whitener, of Fredericktown won the competition.

Sgt. Whitener serves with Company B, 1st of the 138th Infantry Regiment Battalion in St. Louis  He was also named to the Adjutant General's Top 20 list.

One hundred twenty Soldiers and Airmen competed on 35 four-person teams.

According to the Guard, the 2012 Adjutant General State Combat Match Rifle-Pistol Championships took place between March 23-25.
