About half of the states have made the decision to expand Medicaid. Missouri lawmakers are currently debating the matter in Jefferson City. How will what legislators decide impact the state, and those currently living without health insurance?

NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A Missouri woman faces more than a dozen charges for statutory rape and sodomy in New Madrid County.

Sheriff Terry Stevens says Melissa Eaton, 48, of Lilbourn, Missouri allegedly carried on a sexual relationship with a teenage boy.

According to court records juvenile authorities alerted investigators about the situation.

Court documents say the relationship started when the boy was just thirteen years old and went on between April 2010 and until February 2012.

According to records,  investigators believe they engaged in a sexual act twice a week for almost two years.

New Madrid Sheriff Terry Stevens says cases like this are never easy to deal with.

"We have seen case like this prior, but they are not real prevalent," said Sheriff Stevens. "To the point where we feel like it is an epidemic or anything like that. But, it is a real issue that we have dealt with on more than one occasion."

Eaton was taken to the New Madrid County Jail. Her next court appearance is March 24.
