Police are now offering a reward for information leading to an arrested after eight buildings had to be torn down after a weekend fire.

Police Chief Thomas Lemons said he is still looking at surveillance video for anything that can help lead him to the person or persons responsible.

Lemons says they are looking for up to two people that may be involved with the fire.

Police are offering a reward of up to $2,000 for any information that leads to an arrest.  Contact the Bardwell Police Department at 270-445-1263 or Carlisle County Sheriff's Department at 270-628-3377.

Lemons says two remaining buildings damaged in the Bardwell fire were torn down late Monday evening.

According to Lemons, the buildings were severely cracked and too dangerous to leave up so they demolished them to eliminate the possibility of someone getting injured. He said this brings the total number of buildings demolished to eight and another building damaged because of this fire.

More than 100 firefighters from three counties joined to fight the overnight fire early Sunday morning.

Mayor King said the fire was suspicious and none of the buildings had electric, water or gas. He said the Fire Marshall is investigating.

The mayor also said the city spent a lot of money inspecting asbestos in the buildings before demolition of the buildings. These buildings were scheduled to be torn down due to the tornado that hit there last year.
