CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Voters in Missouri will cast their ballots April 3 in the General Municipal election.
This week the Cape Girardeau County Clerk's office is mailing out new voter registration cards.
Those new cards won't be used for Tuesday's election, but the county clerk says they will help speed up the voting process.
They include a bar code that can be scanned at your polling place.
"One of the things that we have on the new card is the bar scan which will hopefully, we're testing out the new iPads for check in," said Cape Girardeau County Clerk Kara Clark-Summers. "And hopefully this will speed up the check in process by being able to scan that bar code. Now it's not going to be available in the April election. But it all the testing goes well in the April election, then we hope to have the up and running for the August election."
Clark-Summers says if you haven't received your card by the 3rd week inAapril, you should call the county clerk's office.
