Mother charged after leaving 3 children alone overnight

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A McCracken County woman is charged with wanton endangerment after police say she left her three children alone overnight.

Kristy Duncan, 32, of Mayfield Metropolis Road is charged with two counts of wanton endangerment 1st (Class D felony) and one count of wanton endangerment 2nd (Class A misdemeanor).

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department,  Duncan left her 12 year old, 7 year old and her 1 year old children alone at their home on Mayfield Metropolis Road around 8 p.m. on March 1 to visit her boyfriend on Ohio Street in Paducah.

She had planned on being home by midnight, but became physically sick due to a reaction of her medication and illegal drug use, according to the sheriff's department.

She was taken to the hospital the following day where she was treated for her medical condition.

March 2, 2012 was also a day that severe storms and tornados passed through our area.
