Spring storms spawn funnel clouds, hail

One person has been killed after a house collapse north of Opdyke in Jefferson County, IL, according to Jefferson County Coroner Eddie Jo Marks.  Two other people were injured.  This happened after severe weather rolled through the area.

Carly O'Keefe is in Opdyke and will have the latest on this tragedy tonight at five.

There were reports of possible tornados along with heavy hail this afternoon in the Heartland. Christy Millweard will be live in Elkville where a possible tornado was spotted today. You can view a slideshow of storm pictures here.

It was a busy day in the StormTeam weather center today for Bob and Jaime as they kept us up to date on the severe weather.  Bob says there is still a chance of thunderstorms tonight - and we may not see much sunshine until Sunday.

A Sikeston junior high teacher was arrested on several charges of sexual misconduct and enticement of child involving a student.

The Southeast Board of Regents approved room and board rate increases Friday.

Charleston Police have arrested a man accused of rape, sodomy, and child molestation.

One lane of the southbound lanes of Interstate 55 was closed at the 91 mile marker after a wreck. Traffic is now back to normal.

Route 45 about 1/2 mile north of Eldorado was reduced to one lane of traffic after a semi overturned.

Troopers say a Zalma man died last night after crashing his motorcycle into an SUV.

In light of recent job cuts in the Heartland, Crystal Britt sat down with Rep. Jo Ann Emerson and talked about keeping industry here at home vs. overseas. Crystal will have that interview tonight at six.
