Happy St. Patrick's Day!

The city of Chicago has dyed its river green in a much-beloved yearly ritual that brought thousands of revelers to downtown for St. Patrick's Day. Also, we will show you pictures from the parade held today in Murphysboro!

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum was shaking hands and imploring people to support him as Missouri Republicans begin their caucuses today.

Holly Brantley went to the caucus in Cape Girardeau County and will tell us what she saw tonight on Heartland News.

Santorum made a stop March 10 in Cape Girardeau, Mo. and  is scheduled to speak in southern Illinois on this evening.

Around Noon today a body was recovered about a ½ mile down from Kentucky Dam in Livingston County, according to Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Sgt. Gary Clark.

A Middlebrook man is dead following a crash in Iron County Friday night.

A joint effort by law enforcement Saturday morning led to a capture of an escaped inmate from the New Madrid County Jail.

A Doniphan, Mo. man has been booked into the Coconino County jail in Arizona on counts of homicide, burglary, possession of a firearm and destruction of evidence. This follows the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a burned home.

Murray State is battling Marquette in the NCAA Tournament on KFVS.  Todd Richards will get reaction after the game from Racer players and fans while Chad Fryman reports from the Mo. state tournament in Columbia.

If Murray State wins this will be the biggest win in school history.  They have never made it to the sweet 16.

We have had not one, but two reports of lightning strikes today in the Heartland.

Laura Wibbenmeyer says the unseasonably warm temperatures may come to an end later this week.
