Name released of barge worker who drowned in Tennessee River

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

The name has been released of the barge worker who drowned early Sunday morning in Marshall County, Kentucky.

The victim is Kevin L. Meyers, 52, of Brookport, Illinois, according to Carl Curtner, Chief of Marshall County Rescue.

Rescue crews got the call around 1:30 a.m. Sunday to help search for the 52-year-old man.

According Chief Curtner, Meyers' body was found around 2:30 a.m. in the Tennessee River.

Curtner says Meyers' was found with his life vest still attached.

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday in Louisville.

Meyers worked for SCH Coal Terminal in Calvert City.
