Busy news day of shootings, stabbings, fires, and a police chase

Good evening to you.  It's been a very busy day in the newsroom. 

The latest story is a high speed chase in Union County, Ill. after a teen is accused of stabbing his mother and his ex-girlfriend's sister.  Police say the boy was just released from juvenile detention a week and a half ago.  Arnold Wyrick is following the story and brings us the latest details tonight on Heartland News at 9 on Fox 23 and Heartland News at 10 on KFVS.

The Cape Girardeau County coroner is investigating a death at a mobile home park in Cape Girardeau, Mo.  Christy Millweard is following this story.

Earlier today, a domestic dispute turned violent after a father is accused of running over his daughter in Hurst, Ill. then driving to Royalton, Ill. where police say he was shot by his son.  The father and daughter are in the hospital.  The son is behind bars.

Murder charges have been filed after a victim in a home invasion shooting in Graves County, Ky. died yesterday.

A Chester, Ill. man is badly burned and his house destroyed after police say he barricaded himself in his home after a domestic dispute and started a fire.  His family was able to escape.

An airplane made an emergency landing this morning at the Southern Illinois Airport in Murphysboro after the landing gear malfunctioned.

A police chase ended this morning in Ohio when a woman from Wappapello, Mo. crashed into a firehouse.

The morning started with a shootout with police that left one man dead and a deputy injured in Farmington, Mo.

Northern Illinois lawmakers have proposed new bills that would require Illinois handgun owners to register their guns and add a tax on ammunition.

The Missouri House has endorsed legislation that would require drivers' license tests to be given only in English.

John Glenn, who launched into orbit for his historic spaceflight 50 years ago, was "no ordinary pilot," fellow astronaut Neil Armstrong said today at a gala marking the anniversary.
