SEMO softball recruit dies following car accident

CAPE GIRARDEAU (KFVS) - Southeast Missouri State softball signee Tianna Stockley died early Sunday morning following injuries suffered in a car accident on I-44 in St. Louis.

According to police Stockley lost lost control of the vehicle she was driving causing it to travel off the road and through the cable barrier. The car then overturned and came to a stop in the in the eastbound lanes of I-44. 

She was pronounced dead at Mercy Medical Center in Creve Coeur.

In a press release SEMO softball coach Lana Richmond said, "We are so saddened by this tragic and shocking news," adding "My heart goes out to Mike and Sherri Stockley, and their entire family. they are in our thoughts and prayers."
