Jewelry taken during home burglary in Pemiscot County

CARUTHERSVILLE, MO (KFVS) - The Pemiscot County Sheriff's Department is investigating a burglary at a home on County Road 553 in rural Caruthersville that happened on Feb. 13.

The homeowner called the sheriff's office after she arrived home and found her back door open and some things out of place inside her home.

Deputies found the back door had been unlawfully entered by use of force.  Several items were stolen from different rooms in the house.

The homeowner reported three jewelry boxes missing that had numerous jewelry items in them.  One of the jewelry boxes was an armoire type of cherry wood that is about 3 feet high with doors that open in the front.

Deputies want to know if anyone living in the area has had anyone stop and make any unusual requests or if anyone have seen any suspicious activity in the area lately.
