SIKESTON, MO (KFVS) -

Police arrest a Sikeston woman on child endangerment charges.

Sherrie Campbell, 38, of Sikeston, was arrested Thursday for felony child endangerment.

Officers say the prosecutor charged Campbell Friday with endangering the welfare of a child in the first degree, a class C felony.

Campbell was given a $15,000 cash or surety bond through Scott County Court. She remained in custody awaiting her arraignment.

On Thursday, February 9 around noon DPS Officers responded to Campbell's home. The call was in reference to a hot line investigation with Missouri Children's Division.

When the Officers arrived at the home they say they found what they believed to be unacceptable living conditions.

The child was placed with relatives.
