Two Ste. Genevieve Co. women injured in crash

STE. GENEVIEVE COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - Two people are hurt in a crash in Ste. Genevieve County.

It happened on Highway 61 a little over a mile from Route J.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, 52-year-old Carol Schweigert failed to negotiate a curve in the road.

The vehicle she was driving then went off the right side of the road.

Schweigert then over corrected, causing her vehicle to then travel off the left side of the road.

She then struck an embankment.

Schweigert suffered serious injuries.

A passenger in the vehicle, 58-year-old Vickie Davis, was moderately hurt.

Schweigert was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital.

Davis was taken to a hospital in Ste. Genevieve.
