Mo. GM plant to make vans for AT&T

WENTZVILLE, Mo. (AP) - AT&T's order of 1,200 compressed natural gas vans will be beneficial for an eastern Missouri General Motors plant.

The GM plant in Wentzville will build the Chevrolet Express cargo vans for AT&T. GM officials said Wednesday that the order is the largest so far for the compressed natural gas vans.

AT&T says it plans to add 8,000 compressed natural gas vehicles through 2013 in a move to reduce carbon emissions. The cost to AT&T for the 8,000 vehicles is estimated at $350 million.

GM says the vans will be delivered to AT&T over the next three months.
