A semi truck hauling milk overturned on Interstate 57 at milepost 42 early Tuesday morning, according to Illinois State Police.
Ricky A. Reed, 50, of Cabool, Missouri was driving a white 2000 International truck tractor semi-trailer hauling milk northbound on I-57 when he admitted to police he feel asleep and lost control of the truck.
The truck veered into the median, through a crossover and overturned onto the driver's side.
Illinois State Police District 22 personnel responded to a crash involving a single truck tractor semi-trailer on Interstate 57 northbound, just north of milepost 42, this morning at approximately 1:55.
Reed was trapped in the truck until emergency personnel could get him out.
He was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion.
Reed was cited for improper lane usage, driving while fatigued, and issued a written warning for log book violations.
