WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

The Williamson County Sheriff's Office is looking for suspects involved in a burglary on Friday.

According to Sheriff Bennie Vick, deputies got a call around 9 a.m. of a burglary in progress at a home on Collins Road, west of Johnston City.

Vick says the suspects knocked on the front door, and when no one answered they forced open the back door open.  A handgun was reportedly taken from the home.

While the suspects were in the home, the home owner hid in a closet and called the sheriff's office.

Vick says the suspects were last seen speeding away in a black pickup truck near Herrin Park.

Anyone with information on this burglary is asked to call the Williamson County Sheriff's Office at 618-997-6541 ext. 9 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-414-8477.
