PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

Police responded to a hit and run crash Thursday morning that left a woman injured.

It happened shortly after 8:15 a.m. on US 60/Clarks River Road in McCracken County, Ky.

Tracy T. Colson, 45, of Paducah was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence first offense (aggravating circumstances) and leaving the scene of an accident-failure to render aid or assistance.

Investigators say Colson pulled the vehicle out of Clarks River Road in the westbound lane and tried to make a left hand turn into a parking lot.

Instead, Colson drove into the left side of a car driven by Brittney N. Childers of Paducah causing the car to spin around crossing oncoming traffic and go rear end first into a ditch.

Deputies say that Colson fled the scene of the crash and pulled into a business parking lot on Irvin Cobb. Deputies found him trying to remove the vehicles bumper.

Childers was taken to a Paducah-area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
