The St. Francois County Sheriff and AT&T ask for the public's help in finding those responsible for the theft of AT&T telephone cable.
The latest theft happened between Saturday, Nov. 26 and Monday, Nov. 28 on Route 47 just west of Bonne Terre.
The thieves took about 600 feet of 400-pair aerial cable. The cable was removed from utility poles adjacent to Route 47. That disrupted service for residents west of Bonne Terre and in the Terre Du Lac area.
AT&T has reported similar thefts in rural Jefferson County, the Bloomsdale area in St. Genevieve County, as well as St. Francois County.
AT&T is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction of those responsible.
Contact law enforcement or AT&T Asset Protection at 1-800-807-4205.
