Redhwks win in overtime

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (AP) - Tyler Stone's layup with 3 seconds left in overtime gave Southeast Missouri a 63-61 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Saturday night.

Stone had an 18-point, 17-rebound double-double for the Redhawks (4-4). Leon Powell had 10 points and 10 rebounds, and Corey Wilford and Marland Smith scored 11 apiece.

Roosevelt Johnson led the Lions (4-3) with 15 points, while Brandon Fortenberry had 14.

Trailing 54-45 with 3:20 left in regulation, the Lions ran off nine straight points capped by Fortenberry's two free throws with 18 seconds to go. When the Redhawks' Marcus Brister missed two foul shots with 2 seconds remaining, the game went to overtime.

Two more free throws by Fortenberry lifted the Lions into a 61-61 tie with 1:17 left in overtime. Each team then missed a shot before Stone's winner.

Fortenberry's 3-point attempt at the buzzer failed. Three Lions - Johnson, DeShawn Patterson and Antonnio Benton - fouled out.
