CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) - The nativity scene is the one scene that truly depicts the reason for the season for Christians.
And for those who want to see nativity scenes from around the world, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Carbondale is the place to be.
This year the church has compiled more than 400 nativity scenes from more than 35 collectors in the region.
And they range in size from extremely small to poured pewter figurines depicting the birth of Jesus Christ.
"And that's one of my goals for this function, is to say hey you know this is a Christian holiday,"said Jana Brown of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. "And we all need to keep Christ in Christmas. And bring your family and children so they can not forget."
The display is free to the public and will open again on December 4, on Sunday from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., there is also a display at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Cape Girardeau.
