Suspect sought in Jackson Taco Bell robbery

JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Jackson Police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at the Taco Bell in Jackson.

It happened Friday around 9:15 a.m.

Police say an employee was taking trash out to the dumpster when a white male wearing a blue North Carolina hooded sweatshirt, blue pants and a green cap pointed a gun and took the employee's wallet.

Police say the man was also described as having a mesh-like covering over his face, 5-foot, 11 inches with a medium build and having a goatee.

After taking the wallet that had some cash and personal items, he reportedly ran west behind the business.

No injuries were reported.

"We are following up and what we're looking for is if anybody in the public was in the area at that time, if they noticed this individual or if they have any information.  We'd like them to contact our police department,"  said Lt. Rodney Barnes with the Jackson Police Department.

Lt. Barnes says crimes like armed robberies don't normally happen in broad daylight, but police do see an increase in thefts during the holiday season.

Anyone who may have seen the robbery, seen a person matching the description or with any information is encouraged to call the Jackson Police Department at 573-243-3151.
