Ky. woman charged with unlawful animal euthanizing

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A second McCracken County Humane Society employee has been charged in connection to unlawful euthanizing practices of animals.

Dalena J. Hall age 46 of McCracken County, was served with a criminal summons at about 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening by sheriff's deputies.

According to the McCracken County sheriff, Hall was charged with ten counts of violation of a Kentucky revised statute which requires a person in Kentucky to be certified by the Kentucky Board of Veterinary Examiners as a certified animal euthanasia specialist.

The investigation reveals that on at least ten occasions she euthanized animals without certification.

Hall is also charged with other violations, according to the sheriff's office. While serving as the onsite manager in charge of the day to day operations of the McCracken County Humane Society, officers say Hall knowingly permitted records of animal euthanasia to be falsified.

Hall is to appear in court on January 5, 2012 at 9 a.m. in McCracken District Court.

The investigation continues by the McCracken County sheriff and county attorneys offices.
