Number of homes on Holiday Tour expanded for 2011

This year's annual Holiday Home tour in Cape Girardeau County expanded to seven area homes.  The tour proceeds benefit the southeast Missouri office of Lutheran Family and Children's Services.

"We have everything this year from a log cabin to newly-built mansions.  One home is 16,000 sq. feet.  That particular home was struck by tragedy ten years ago and since became overgrown with rats and poison ivy. Now, anyone on the tour will marvel at the hand-crafted detail in the renovations.  It's just one of the many tid-bits you learn as you walk through each of these homes along the tour, thus enjoying the holiday decorations each homeowner also features," said Melody Anderson, organizer of the Holiday Home Tour.

Proceeds go to Lutheran Family and Children's Services Cape Girardeau office.  Anderson said this year, more than ever, the agency needs additional funding to continue offering services such as: adoptions, foster care, abstinence education, senior services, single-parent education, among others.

Advance tickets are $25 and can be purchased at the Lutheran Family & Children Services, The Bank of Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Jackson, Marble Hill and Perryville;  Belladonna Salon & Spa, Patrick Furniture, Southeast Hospital gift shop, Sunny Hill Garden Center and Ultimate Flooring all in Cape Girardeau.  For more information, call Lutheran Family and Children's Services at (573) 334-5866.
